the Mongolian National Federation of the Blind (MNFB) received equipment within the framework of the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects by the Japanese Government. Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki attended the handover ceremony at which 5 pieces of braille printing machines and 5 braille translation softwares and 8 pieces of brail screen worth a total of USD 91,898 have been donated.

Thanks to the grant aid, printing capacity of the federation has been increased two times and 11,800 people with visual impairments would benefit it.

Approximately 200-300 people are served by the federation per week. And it is proper to mention that those with visual impairments are being provided with opportunity to read Cyrillic textbooks for visually impaired students of the Mongolian State University of Education.

The Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) assist NGOs and local public authorities in developing countries in responding to various development needs in a prompt and complete manner, even though on a comparatively small scale.
