Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the sidelines of his working visit
to the Republic of Korea, Minister of Environment and Tourism B.Bat-Erdene held
a meeting with Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Yannick
Glemarec.

During the meeting, the results of the projects
implemented by the GCF in Mongolia were discussed. The GCF has implemented
about 20 projects in Mongolia in the past and funded about USD 400 million.
Executive Director Yannick Glemarec expressed his satisfaction with the results
of the project, emphasizing that Mongolia is a model country for project
implementation.

Moreover, Executive Director Yannic Glemarec voiced the
intention to hold the GCF board meeting in Mongolia in October this year. In
turn, Minister B.Bat-Erdene said that the country is welcome to host the
meeting.

At the end of the meeting, Minister B.Bat-Erdene
expressed willingness to continue the Ministry’s cooperation with GCF on environmental
issues, including climate change, sustainable forest management, and greenhouse
gas reduction, which are of concern not only to Mongolia but also to the world.
